Selvadolce Rucantu skin contact Pigato.
The Rucantu vineyard, like the VB1, was planted 50 years ago by Aris's grandfather. The vines are arranged on large terraces with calcareous-clayey soil. The harvest is made manually in a few passages to ensure the perfect degree of ripeness of each bunch. The grapes, after careful quality selection, are vinified in second and third passage barriques starting with two weeks maceration on skins followed by ageing for 12 months in wood on the fine lees. There is regular batonnage carried out over this time which gives the wine structure and body. The Rucantu is then bottled with a minimum addition of sulphur.
Rucantu has an intense yellow colour, on the nose powerful and persistent with notes of Mediterranean bush, pine resin, orange peel, honey, saffron and kerosene. On the palate, it is marine, fresh, rustic and textural with a finish of sweet spices and dried fruit.
Best paired with grilled fish, fish stew, seafood Pasta or white meats.
