Chent'annos
Chent’annos v. (pronounced Kan/ta/nos) Cheers! A colloquial Sardinian toast. (Literally chent 100, annos years) To wish upon someone one hundred good years. Sardinia having one of the largest populations worldwide of centenarians we thought this toast was too good not to share.
Chent'annos has been importing Italian wine to Australia since 2014. We work directly with small, mostly organic producers across Piemonte, Tuscany, Sardinia, Sicily, Friuli, and beyond. These are family vineyards, not factories. We visit them, we know their names, and we choose their wines because we would
serve them at our own table.

It depends on the sauce. Tomato-based pasta suits Sangiovese like our Piazzano Chianti. Seafood pasta like vongole or frutti di mare suits Vermentino like our Giba Bianco from Sardinia. Meat ragu suits Montepulciano or Barolo. Pesto pasta suits a crisp Vermentino or Ribolla Gialla from Friuli.
Natural Italian wine is made with minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the cellar. Grapes are grown organically or biodynamically, without synthetic pesticides or herbicides. In the cellar, winemakers use little or no added sulphites, no artificial yeasts, and no fining agents. The result is a wine that expresses the true character of the land and the grape. Most of the producers we work with at Chent'annos follow natural or low-intervention practices, many of them certified organic.
Chent'annos imports Barolo directly from small producers in Piemonte and ships Australia-wide. Our current selection includes the Attilio Ghisolfi Barolo Ciabot Minat Riserva, a structured and age-worthy wine from one of Barolo's most respected families. Order online and receive delivery in 2-6 business days.
Tuscany produces some of Italy's most iconic wines. For a classic choice, Chianti DOCG from Sangiovese grapes is hard to beat -- our Fattoria di Piazzano Chianti is a great starting point. If you want something bigger and more structured, look for a Montepulciano or a Super Tuscan. All our Tuscan wines are sourced directly from small family producers and shipped Australia-wide.
Most are certified organic or biodynamic. A small number practise sustainable farming without formal certification. Each product page specifies the farming approach.
